Lizard Island is a continental island situated 28km from the North Queensland
coast. The island is surrounded by fringing reef, and it is only a 50 minute
boat trip to the legendary Outer Great Barrier Reef. On Lizard Island, a variety of diverse dive
locations are available for all levels of diving experience. This northern
section of the Great Barrier Reef is renowned for its water clarity and amazing
variety of coral species and marine life which attracts visitors form all around
the world. All Lizard Island dive sites are under protection of the Great Barrier Reef Marine
Park Authority.
Set right on the Great Barrier
Reef and boasting its own beautiful fringing reefs, Lizard Island
has the advantage of being able to offer divers both half and full day reef
experiences. Lizard Island's purpose-built dive boat, the MV Serranidae, operates
full day excursions to stunning Inner and Outer Reef dive sites, including
the world famous Cod Hole, renowned for its huge, but friendly, Potato Cod. |

 | Diving is not guaranteed on the day of arrival

 | Australian Scuba Diving Standards require that all certified scuba
divers that have any medical conditions contra indicated to diving, for
example Asthma, Epilepsy, Diabetes, Heart, Lung or Blood Disorders of any
kind require a fully completed Regulation Medical Form (A.S.4005.1) from a Diving Doctor (this
form has a comprehensive list of contra indicated conditions). The Medical
Form must be completed prior to arrival at the resort and is to be
presented to The Beach Club when registering for diving stating that you
are totally fit to dive by Australian Standards. If you do not have this
Medical Form and have a medical condition, you may be excluded from diving
on Lizard Island. |

 | For all dive courses, two passport sized photos (for non-certified
divers), or a 'C' card and logbook (for certified divers) must also be
presented to The Beach Club on arrival. |

in all dive charges. An environmental management charge is included in the
price of each dive. All prices are quoted in Australian dollars, include GST
and are valid as at 1 April 2003 to 31 March 2004. Prices are subject to
change without notice. |
